I photograph things I like and in 2009/10 I had taken a few photographs of London’s shop windows I found intriguing before I realised there seemed to be an art movement sweeping London with amazing designs in different shop windows.

So much time and work had gone into each of these designs that lasted a short 8 weeks or so, before they were then gone from the shops forever.

I wandered around late at night and into the early hours of the morning recording these London Shop Windows over a 2 year period for all of the seasons including – Valentine’s day – Easter – Halloween – Christmas. Being out so late gave me more time to spend cropping my favourite parts of each shop.

Agent Provocateur was one of my favourite Shop Windows and the – Car Wash image 010 – was taken on a misty night in London’s Mayfair.

I don’t regard these photographs in the same light as my main body of work, I have just recorded what was in front of me. They are a homage to the shop designers and window dressers for some of the following London High Street Shops:

  • LIBERTY’S DEPARTMENT STORE – Great Marlborough Street
  • PIMPS & PUMPS – Spitalfields
  • TOPSHOP – Regent Street
  • A GOLD – Spitalfields
  • TED BAKER – Covent Garden
  • ROKIT – Covent Garden
  • RALPH LAUREN – Notting Hill & Mayfair
  • STELLA McCARTNEY – Mayfair
  • ALL SAINTS – Spitalfields
  • NANDO’S – Spitalfields
  • AGENT PROVOCATEUR – Mayfair
  • DOLCE & GABBANA – New Bond Street
  • ANNA LOU OF LONDON – Carnaby Street
  • ZARA – Oxford Street
  • ABERCROMBIE & FITCH – Regent Street
